Good morning! This past week I’ve been reminising a lot about what made Christmas so special to me while I was growing up. I remember my dad driving us around at night so we could look at all the Christmas lights on people’s houses and in their yards. My mom would lead us in Christmas carols while we looked and often times we would sing so many songs that my voice would feel hoarse by the time we returned home. I have so many fun memories, but I’d have to say going on those drives is one of my favorites. Because I love it so much, I still carry on that same tradition with my husband and children. My kids seem to relish it as much as I did and still do.
I hope this Christmas season is treating you well and that you are remembering fun memories as well as creating new ones 🙂
Well, today I would like to share one of my favorite Christmas recipes. I started this a few years ago and have made it every year since. I call it “White Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Oreos” -sounds delish right?! It is 🙂
Dump your bag of white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Place a heaping TBSP of crisco on top. Microwave for one minute. Stir.
Microwave in 30 second intervals after that stirring between each time till chocolate chips are completely melted.
Dip Oreos partway in white chocolate and place on wax paper.
Sprinkle crushed candy canes on melted white chocolate.
Repeat till you run out of cookies or chocolate 😉
Let them sit for awhile so chocolate can harden back up.
Tie some red and white twine around them to make them look even more festive! Or put in cute cookie boxes. Makes adorable gifts!
They are so easy and fast to make! My kids and husband and I gobbled them right up….a little too fast;) Looking at these pictures is making me think I need to make more! Like today. Right now.
I hope you decide to try them! I am sure you will be very happy if you do. Thanks for stopping by!
Be happy, feel beautiful, stuff your face with white-chocolate-dipped-peppermint-oreos and make a fun Christmas memory today!
